(Reporter Zhang Yahen of Jingbao/Taichung report) The 2023 Malaysia Invention Exhibition was grandly held at the Kuala Lumpur International Convention and Exhibition Center. The three-day exhibition from 5/11 to 5/13 became the focus of the global innovation field. At this event, Taiwanese student teams guided by the Invention Switch Team, including the Pu Tai Senior High School Invention Club, Invention Switch Invention Star students, and the Einstein Experimental Elementary School Invention Course, showed amazing creativity and talent, and won 7 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal and 3 special awards in this invention exhibition, bringing glory to Taiwan.
Putai Senior High School Invention ClubWe performed outstandingly in this invention exhibition and won 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal. They came up with a range of eye-catching works, including an anti-drowsiness warning device for cars, a sterilizing toothbrush holder, a pacifier mechanism for detecting body temperature, and an ambulance location warning system. These works focus on people's livelihood issues and cover current social issues. Among them, their disinfecting toothbrush holder also won a special award from Indonesia, which is a recognition of their efforts and innovative thinking.
The "Sports Concave Protection Device" and "Urban Small Farmer Planting System" proposed by the students of the Invention Switch Invention Star Competition won two gold medals. These works demonstrate their passion and creativity in solving real-world problems. It is particularly worth mentioning that the Urban Smallholder Cultivation System won a special award from Indonesia, which is a recognition of their outstanding contribution to sustainable agriculture.
The youngest school, Einstein Experimental Primary School, also won 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal. The works they proposed include "quick clothes hanger", "stroller safety warning device" and "telescopic multi-directional screwdriver". Among them, the clothes hanger quick-release system was particularly favored by the judges and won the rare Youth Special Award. The team pointed out that the inspiration for this idea came from their observation of the inconvenience of helping their mother collect clothes on a daily basis. Their delicate observation skills and attention to details of life fully demonstrated the effectiveness of their learning.
The inventor of the switch said that no matter how old the students are, everyone should find a stage to show their creativity; he firmly believes that children’s ideas should not be wasted, but should be fully developed and stimulated. The mission of Invention Switch is to guide these ideas to have a more complete and delicate presentation, and to create more creative inventions with everyone.
